Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Lindsay and I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a self-proclaimed foodie.
I wanted to start a blog to talk about my biggest passions--food and nutrition. Not only do they encompass my day job (working as an RD in a hospital) but on my down time I love to explore new restaurants and food in NYC, try out new recipes at home, and talk pretty much nonstop about food.
As an RD I focus on gathering scientific,research based nutrition information and making it easy for everyone to understand and apply to real life scenarios. I believe it is extremely important to know your sources of information- there is so much misleading nutrition information out there nowadays!
Even though I am a dietitian and I strongly promote living the healthiest lifestyle possible, I am realistic about what I eat. I primarily lead a very healthy lifestyle but I never deprive myself, and I don’t follow a “diet”. If I want to have some chocolate, I will, and there is nothing wrong with that. Just have it in moderation. I have fun creating and thinking up healthy meals that not only are nutritious but taste pretty amazing too. I hope this blog can help others discover the same excitement about nutritious foods that I have!
